On 01-01-2017, this 04-02-1991 note was amended from "This is a fertilizing growth medium. Note that non-fertilizing growth media, such as mulch, peat moss and top soil, are in Class 31" to "Loam is a fertilizing growth medium. Note that non-fertilizing growth media, such as mulch and peat moss are in Class 31." The reference to "top soil" in Class 31 was deleted, as it was transferred from Class 31 to Class 1 in compliance with Nice 11-2017. 01-01-2018 - The term "loam" may also be defined as a paste of clay and sand used for making foundry molds (moulds) in the metal casting process. Please see the new entries "Foundry molding preparations in the nature of loam" and "Foundry moulding preparations in the nature of loam" in Class 1. The term "Loam" in Class 1 without further specification is construed as referring to the fertilizing growth medium.
