09-19-2013 - Straps are generally classified according to the function or purpose of the goods. However, straps for securing items and general purpose straps are classified in Classes 6, 18, or 22 only, and the classification depends on the material composition of the goods. Classes 6, 18, and 22 cover straps comprised of metal, leather, and non-metal, non-leather materials, respectively. Straps with functions that are not covered by the Class Headings are also classified in Classes 6, 18, or 22 only according to material composition.
