Profile gauges are also called "contour gauges." A profile gauge is a frame holding a set of pins tightly in line on the same plane. When the profile gauge is pressed against an object, the pins conform to the shape of the object, and the profile can then be traced or duplicated. These goods function as measuring instruments for measuring and recording the cross-sectional shape of a surface. Profile gauges are classified in Class 9 because "measuring instruments" is in the Nice Alphabetical List in Class 9.
