This refers to a combined item ' not two separate items. The term 'promotion' cannot be used by itself. The promotion services must be linked with the marketing services to indicate that the services involve promotional marketing services. The term 'marketing' by itself is also unacceptable. Marketing services by themselves can refer to a retail-type activity. In the context of the language of this ID, marketing refers to promotional marketing services. While a retail service would be in Class 35, the nature and purpose of that type of service is very different from a promotional marketing type of service. 1-1-2012 "Marketing services" was added to the Manual as a separate entry pursuant to the 10th Edition of the Nice Agreement. When listed by itself, an identification for "marketing" should include the term 'services.' This entry refers to the promoting of the goods and services of others.
