03-03-2011 - The terms marketing and "marketing services" cannot be used alone. This identification should be used as an entire phrase. Marketing services can reasonably refer to a retail-type activity or marketing can refer to promoting or advertising the goods and services of others. While both types of marketing services are classified in Class 35, the nature and purpose the respective services is very different. 01-01-2012 - "Marketing services" was added to the Manual as a separate entry pursuant to the 10th Edition of the Nice Agreement. When listed by itself, an identification for "marketing" should include the term "services." This entry refers to the promoting of the goods and services of others.
