05-03-2012 - Social media is a broad catch-all term for a variety of Internet applications enabling users to create content and interact with each other. Examples of social media include online forums, blogs, wikis, and social networking websites. Because the term includes a diverse group of services, the subject matter social media is too broad for classification purposes, i.e., Information and consulting in the field of social media is indefinite and overbroad, and it must be clarified. 08-06-2020 - Consultation services are in principle classified in the same classes as the services that correspond to the subject matter of the consultation. See Nice General Remarks in TMEP §1401.02(a). The service-related subject matter must be set forth with adequate specificity to allow for accurate classification in accordance with the related branch of activity specified in the Nice Class Headings. See TMEP §1402.11(e).
