Rental services are in principle classified in the same classes as the services provided by means of the rented objects. See Nice General Remarks in TMEP §1401.02(a). Rental of technical drawing instruments is classified in Class 42 based on the wording "services of engineers and scientists who undertake evaluations, estimates, research and reports in the scientific and technological fields" in the Nice Class Heading for Class 42 and by analogy to "construction drafting," which appears in the Nice Alphabetical List in Class 42.
