Permanent makeup services typically involve the tattooing (permanent pigmentation of the dermis) of designs that resemble makeup to the skin of the face, lips and eyelids. 01-28-2016: Permanent makeup services are also called "cosmetic tattooing" or "micropigmentation," which are cosmetic procedures in which pigment is embedded beneath the skin to add permanent color.
